SUMA SEASIDE PARK

A 15 -minute walk north of Suma Seaside Park, and there is a temple that has been known as "Sumaji". In the main hall, there are many important cultural properties, including palace, Buddhist altars, and eleven -faced wooden images in the Muromachi period. There are Aoba’s whistle, Benkei bells, and Atsumori neck mound that Atsumori Taira used, and is also famous as a temple related to Genpei. In addition, on the 20th and 21st of every month, the “Daishi Fair” will be held, with about 40 to 50 stalls lined up on the approach to Sumaji Temple Station. It is said that about 20,000 worshipers will visit in two days, and they are very busy.
